A hint of fall and a dragonfly

This weekend a cold front blew through my neck of the woods.  The first of the season, putting a welcomed end to a long stretch of 100+ degree days.  On Friday, we set a record when the mercury topped 105.  By Saturday morning, we were enjoying lows hovering around 60 and highs in the mid-eighties.  Around here, we call that fall.

It was fabulous.  Picture perfect, and I just simply couldn’t allow it to go by without getting out to enjoy it.  Along the way, I found this guy perched on a dead tree branch.

  1. As always, wildly envious of your ability to capture details in photography!
Also, I wanted to let you know that I’ve nominated you for two blog awards (you can have both, or only one, as you choose!): the Booker Award for book bloggers (and writers!) and the One Lovely Blog award. Head on over here to find out more: http://crestingthewords.wordpress.com/2012/09/13/updating-the-blog-part-1-or-the-honour-of-receiving-and-the-joy-of-passing-on-awards/

Leave me a comment. I'd love to hear what you think.
